The Moving Men Cometh...

... and after three days with a 3-mo-old, a 4-yr-old, a meowing cat and 850 miles later... the Moving Men Delivereth! It took them 9 hrs to load the 11,600 lbs... we managed to stay a room ahead of them packing-wise... but it was mind-numbingly exhausting! On the road by 5pm and by the time we made Fresno after 10pm, we were all toast. We planned to stop early the next day in Redding, but silly us, decided to push it and went for Klamath Falls... those extra couple of hours about did us all in, but thought it would make the next day of 135 miles all that much easier... but alas and alack, it was almost our longest day... the cat escaped in the car, the baby arched his back and screamed every time he got even near his carseat...and the 4-yr-old entertained me with endless chatter after we crossed the state line... that car is from Oregon, that one's from Oregon too, that car is from Oregon, that one's from Oregon too... do they have deer in Oregon? Do they have socks in Oregon? Do they have bear in Oregon? Do they have beds in Oregon? If you're wearing pink, raise your hand. If you have blonde hair, raise your hand. If you're... well, you get the picture.

Rolled into Bend to find our "new" house... literally... the transformation was amazing. Spent a couple of days at a hotel until the moving truck arrived and the unloading process was much easier and faster... now we're playing a rousing game of "which box was that in?" God only knows what day it is, but have managed to find a bit more energy in the unpacking... totally running on empty as that last box was packed and put on the truck. Can't imagine "what" I was thinking that "the moving company" was an "extravagance"... at our age we were lucky to be able to do our own packing ;-) Can't wait for you all to visit. It's beautiful here. xoxo
